Meet the team
Jean Butler Boren
Born and raised in St. Louis, Jean started her journey working in corporate retail at the May Company. Since then, she worked in the industry touching every department from retail to wholesale to even supplying where she worked for Hoffman fabrics. She had the opportunity to work on heading up design and merchandising to organizing production teams that developed products all around the world. Jean has spent most of her time traveling for work while raising a family in Southern California while being deeply immersed into tennis since both of her daughters were nationally junior ranked players. It only made sense for her to step into performance wear.
Moving to the entrepreneurial side, she was able to tap into her different connections she had made around the world over the years to start her own line. This is when Brynn came to her with the idea and need for starting a line focused on performance for athletes. After college and playing on the pro tour, she basically lived in athletic wear and if anyone knew the ins and outs to get this going it was Jean. With a focus for tennis players, she and Brynn created Tres Athletic. The biggest focus and inspiration came from making a line that was evolving quickly, moved fast with the latest trends, uses the best fabrics and has the best fit for all athletes of all body shapes and sizes.
Brynn Renee Boren
The vision behind the brand, Southern California native, Brynn Boren has been wearing performance wear her entire life. From her adolescent years on the tennis court, tennis ran through her veins. Brynn started on the junior pro tour and finished her college years at USC where they were ranked top 10 in the United States. Shortly after, Brynn started to play on the pro tour until transitioning into coaching.
Living in workout sets on and off the court - the inspiration behind Trés Athletic came. She has worked alongside her mom to thoughtfully curate each set to cater to performance needs all while being comfortable. As someone who has lived their life wearing many different brands, being watched in a sport she plays all while making sure she felt comfortable was tough. She knew that making a garment functional was just as important as making it look stylish– which is where the challenges arise. She was able to take all of her knowledge and experience to help create her personal performance wear brand that makes you feel comfortable and confident through good fit and functionality.
